The day began with a self guided tour of Westminster Abbey. They have these unique little things that look like cell phones but it is actually a mini tour guide in a device. You put the device up to your ear and push the number coordinating with the room your in and presto.....you have a self guided tour with your very own person tour guide. Westminster Abbey is gorgeous the architecture and history behind the abbey is truly amazing...I would have taken pictures but your not allowed. When I traveled abroad with the Girl Scouts 5 years ago or so we went to Westminster Abbey. I thought it was amazing then it just takes your breath away but this time I was even more excited because I had watched the Royal Wedding of William and Kate. So I just kept saying Kate walked down this aisle or stupid things like that. I had the unique opportunity because of the time frame we were there to actually go up into St. Edward the Confessors tomb. For those of you that don't know this is an area of the Abbey that is typically closed to the public. Unless you are lucky enough to be there at 11 o'clock and get picked out of the others to go up into the monument to pray with the priest. This is strictly to pray with the priest this is not a touristy thing this is about prayer. Well I felt honored to be chosen out of the crowd it was a very unique and worthwhile experience that I will treasure for a lifetime. For those of you who don't know St. Edward the Confessor was the King of England from 1042-1066. His tomb is considered the most holiest part of the entire Abbey.Tuesday, May 15, 2012
